mere lahu mein jal uthe utne hi taaza dam chiraag
waqt ki saazishi hawa jitne diye bujha gaee

main bhi ba-paas-e-dostaa'n apne khilaaf ho gaya
ab yahi rasm-e-dosti mujhko bhi raas aa gaee

tund hawa ke jashn mein log gaye to they magar
tan se koi qabaa chhini sar se koi rida gaee

dil-zadagaa'n ke qaafile door nikal chuke tamaam
unn ki talaash mein nigaah ab jo gaee to kya gaee

aakhir-e-shab ki daastaa'n aur karein bhi kya bayaa'n
ek hi aah-e-sard thee saare diye bujha gaee.
