World's first manure-powered town
 
A German town Lunen, north of Dortmund, will use cow and horse manure as well as other organic material from farms to provide cheap and sustainable electricity for its 90,000 residents from September 2009.
 
The network's plants can produce enough to power and heat 26,000 houses. It can provide 30-40 % of the town's heat and electricity.
 
Bottom line:- In small way we can also start contributing towards Green
1.     Save electricity, put off all unnecessary lights at home and office.
2.     Save water, attend on line leaks and save rain water and use for gardening etc.
3.     Every one should plant at least one tree at home or in one's town.
4.     Every house should have a solar cooker to cook rice and dhal everyday
5.     Every house should at least one solar Lamp to be used during power failure.
6.      STOP USING PLASTIC BAGS
